       Use these basic rates as a guide to our prices. Rates depend, however, on technical level, difficulty or obscurity, volume or special deadlines, and the like. For a complete, free estimate, please send JETServ the materials to be translated via e-mail, fax or postal mail. (Find details below in the section "Procedure.")

Japanese to English: U.S. 5¢ per Japanese character in the original
For example, in the case of about 500 Japanese characters to one Japanese standard A4-size (210 x 297 mm) page, one page would be approximately $20.
Minimum is $50

Note on Character Count: Each Japanese kanji or kana, letter of the alphabet, punctuation mark, or numeral is counted as one character. Spaces and returns are not counted.

English to Japanese: U.S. 10¢ per English word in the original
For example, in the case of about 200 English words to one Letter Size (8½ x 11 inches) page, one page would be approximately $20.
Minimum is $50

Note on Word Count: Anything between spaces or a return is considered one word. Hyphenated words are counted as one word, for example.

  1. Contact JETServ by e-mail for a free estimate on the actual material to be translated. E-mail the materials to us as attachments (you may wish to compress them if they are large), or request JETServ's contact information if you wish to send the materials by fax or postal mail. In your inquiry, please include any special instructions you may have and specify the deadline.

  2. We will send you our complete estimate by e-mail. Decide on the services you wish to receive and let us know by return e-mail.

  3. Once we have received your payment, we will begin the translation. We will send you the completed translations in the manner you specify (e-mail, fax or postal mail) by the deadline you specify.

Note for English to Japanese Translations: You will not be able to view Japanese properly on your computer unless you have Japanese capability. E-mail JETServ for advice.
